On Course for Success

Fiscal Year 2014 of the BLANCO Professional Group

The Blanco Professional Group – a system supplier in the B2B sector for commercial kitchens, medical facilities and the industry – achieved a consolidated turnover in the fiscal year 2014 of 114 million Euros. This equates to a growth of 4.6 percent compared to the year before. With its 698 employees and the 34 trainees and DH students, the corporate group with headquarters in Oberderdingen, Germany, finds itself in a favourable position. Export recorded a share of 40.4 percent, which represented a slight decline due to difficult market conditions. However, this area will be strengthened in the future through supporting measures in all four business units.

In 2014, Blanco Professional invested almost 3.7 million Euros in Oberderdingen, predominantly in production and a sustainable energy concept. A newly constructed power station is set to use natural gas to generate condensing technology from heat. Waste heat from production processes will be collected and re-distributed for building and process heating.

All four Blanco Professional business units launched innovations in 2014. The largest of the four business units, Catering, strengthened its position in the area of food distribution, with an emphasis on export, through the introduction of the Blanco AirServe Trolley for hot-air regeneration. The inland and export sales department was re-organised.

The Medical business unit launched the versatile ISO transport trolley Megastore, which was distinguished with the "Red Dot Award 2014", and established new, internal structures to pave the way for a growing export business.

The Industrial business unit has been recording favourable growth for years, and re-structured its project management accordingly. The year 2014 also witnessed the initiation of two major series launches for the customers Rolls-Royce and Eberspächer.

The Railway business unit grew in 2014 through the production of two pre-series: on-board bistros for the future "ICx" by Deutsche Bahn and the "Intercity Express Programme" on the Great Western Main Line and East Coast Main Line in Great Britain.

"In order to continue to grow," states Roland Spleiss, CEO of Blanco Professional, "international growth is of particular importance to us. We need to continue the optimisation of our structures in line with our customers and the market."
