An upgrade for the classic: The B.PROTHERM K with a removable heater
In many places, the B.PROTHERM K from B.PRO has long been part of everyday life in commercial catering. As a rugged synthetic transport container, it's just as reliable for food distribution processes in daycare centres and schools as it is in company restaurants and event catering. With the tool-free removable convection heater, this classic model has been further developed specifically where it counts most in operation: cleaning, hygiene and availability.
There's often little time between a return and the next tour. Containers have to be emptied, cleaned, checked and made available again, while at the same time high standards of hygiene and documentation apply. If the cleaning steps are too time-consuming or inconsistent, congestion occurs in the washing-up area, tours are delayed and the team comes under pressure. This is precisely where the new solution comes in: It simplifies cleaning and stabilises processes without compromising on food quality and safety.

Dishwasher-safeness as a lever for stable processes
With the B.PROTHERM K front loader, the convection heater remains integrated in the door, but can be fully removed in a few simple steps thanks to the quick-release fastener (LOXX). The container body and door can then be cleaned in the existing washing-up process, while the heating module is maintained separately according to a clearly defined procedure.
This standardises cleaning steps and reduces operating errors. In school and daycare centre catering and in company canteens with large volumes, throughput times are shortened, the availability of containers increases and manual, physically demanding subsequent work in the washing-up area is reduced.
Conversion option for existing fleets
The removable convection heater isn't limited to new units. A retrofit set is available for all existing B.PROTHERM 420 K and 620 K units, which includes the heating module with quick-release fastener and the matching installation frame.
Owners and service providers can thereby gradually bring their fleet up to the new standard, initially in particularly sensitive or heavily utilised areas, for example. This safeguards investments in existing containers, while cleaning and hygiene levels are brought up to date and efficiency gains in cleaning and logistics take immediate effect.
Concrete added value in a variety of application situations
In event catering, operating locations, time slots and volumes often change on short notice. There's little room for manoeuvring between return, cleaning and reuse. The removable convection heater supports a high turnaround speed: Containers can be quickly integrated into the washing-up process, and heating modules can be cleaned separately in a standardised manner. This means that units are available again more quickly, even for tightly scheduled events or simultaneous events. At the same time, the food quality remains stable during transport and waiting times.

In daycare centres and schools, the teams are often smaller and tasks are divided between the kitchen, serving and washing-up areas. A technique that requires no special tools and can be explained in just a few simple steps reduces the amount of training required, makes stand-in situations easier and ensures consistent hygiene standards. This means that the B.PROTHERM K fits in well with both in-house kitchen teams and teams with external service providers.

In company canteens, processes often have to be adapted on short notice, for example when the number of guests changes or additional serving points are added. Regardless of whether the food is sourced from your own central kitchen or from an external service provider, the B.PROTHERM K supports flexible capacity control. The easy-to-clean units are quickly back in circulation, and existing fleets can be reinforced where greater output is required. This keeps processes stable without the need to reorganise logistics or route planning.
The B.PROTHERM K as a building block in the overall concept
In addition to the removable convection heater, the new B.PROTHERM K models offer all the familiar strengths of this family of systems: lightweight, rugged synthetic containers with very good insulation properties, ergonomic handling and GN-compatible interior geometry for safe food transport from the kitchen to the serving area, embedded in a coordinated system with suitable components for transport and serving.
