Food transport NEXT LEVEL
The new B.PROTHERM stainless steel food transport containers are full of good ideas.
Patrick Hilpp, Head of Product Management at B.PRO, explains in an interview what particular attention was paid to during the development of the pioneering model series - and what these features really bring to everyday working life.
For the user, the focus is often on cost-effectiveness. A new purchase must bring a return on investment. What do the new B.PROTHERMs have to offer here?
Hilpp: The better I can cover different requirements with a single appliance, the more sense the investment makes. That's why we have developed a completely new interior concept for the B.PROTHERM. It enables the user to load the interior very efficiently. This means that a significantly higher loading capacity can be achieved. At the end of the day, this means that fewer appliances are required and the footprint is also reduced - a major advantage, also in economic terms. The combi and duo models, which offer two compartments for different temperatures in one appliance, are also interesting.
Does this mean that the user can utilise the interior of the B.PROTHERM very efficiently and thus save money?
Hilpp: Exactly. For example, the refrigerated B.PROTHERM model with a total of 36 crimps can accommodate 50% more GN containers of size 1/1-65. In addition, you can even use the lower corrugations in front of the cooling compartment.
What other criteria – besides economic efficiency – were important in the development?
Hilpp: Sustainability. The recirculation-cooled models use the environmentally friendly and resource-saving refrigerant propane R290. Stainless steel is a very durable material and the workmanship of the B.PROTHERM is first-class. With the previous models, we have devices at our customers' premises that have been in use for over 20 years. That is also sustainability.
The topic of hygiene is more relevant than ever. What does the new B.PROTHERM have to offer in this regard?
Hilpp: Hygiene is fundamentally an issue that was always the focus of our product developments, even before the pandemic: no undercuts, everything easy to clean, removable components for basic cleaning. With the B.PROTHERM, the stainless steel bead walls are completely deep-drawn, a very sophisticated production process. The advantage is that they have no sharp edges or hidden dirt corners - so the interior can be cleaned particularly easily and safely.

The future is digital, as they always say. What does this look like with the new B.PROTHERM?
Hilpp: Connectivity is of course a must. The B.PROTHERM are ideally prepared for digital hygiene, temperature and process management. You can digitize all processes using optionally integrated sensors. This ensures safety and saves time in everyday work. Of course, we are happy to provide interested parties with comprehensive and understandable advice on this topic.
This all sounds really exciting. Where can interested parties find more information?
Hilpp: You can find more detailed product information with technical data on our website. Or just watch the short videos on our YouTube channel.
