Thinking smarter buffets
B.PRO has optimised the BASIC LINE and added a wide range of new models. The new buffet solutions delight guests of all ages
Buffets are now a commonplace feature in many areas of commercial and leisure catering. They enhance the well-being of guests, speed up processes and, in an ideal scenario, can be managed without great effort.
In order for this concept to work reliably, function, hygiene and appearance have to unite. Output solutions that are easy to handle and respond flexibly to different concepts are the recipe.
"The buffet in particular shows how well thought-out technology characterises the process," says Patrick Hilpp, Head of Product Management at B.PRO GmbH. "We are therefore continuously developing our BASIC LINE modules for adults and children, always with the aim of making work easier and optimising the guest experience."

The BASIC LINE – stable cooling, easier hygiene handling and foldable sneeze guard
In everyday practice, the technology behind the buffet often determines how smoothly operations run. This is why B.PRO has fundamentally revised the BASIC LINE cooling trays.
- The actively contact-cooled version has been technically optimised and now offers significantly improved refrigerating capacity. With stable temperature control from +4°C, it works more efficiently and ensures reliable cooling performance in daily use.
- The convection-cooled BASIC LINE UK model has received a comprehensive update. In future, the cooling tray will consist of individual, easily removable segments that can be conveniently cleaned in the dishwasher. Integrated ventilation grates ensure that the cold air circulates optimally and that no food falls into gaps during plating.
- Another plus is the new height adjustment: The position of the GN containers can be flexibly adjusted or tilted – ideal for attractive product presentation. Optional shelves are available, for example for positioning bowls, as well as hanging frames for smaller GN formats.
- The revised bridge attachment with foldable sneeze guard also ensures greater flexibility. Depending on capacity utilisation or staff requirements, you can quickly switch between service and self-service depending on staff requirements or capacity, thus presenting an especially practical solution for quieter days or at off-peak times.

The BASIC LINE Kids diagonal – more convenience for mini gourmets
With the BASIC LINE Kids diagonal serving counter, B.PRO presents a solution that has been especially developed for businesses with a large number of young guests, from family hotels to leisure parks and experience dining. The concept is based on a design that makes it easier for children to access the buffet and at the same time reduces the workload for staff.
- Thanks to narrower spacing between wells, even the smallest guests can reach food at the back with ease. Yet another advantage is that the serving counter can be used from both sides, which speeds up the process, especially when many children are eating at the same time.
- The serving height of 750 millimetres is precisely tailored to the height of young users. Inclusion is also at the forefront: The design enables barrier-free access for wheelchair users.
- The cover can be optionally widened so that trays, depending on their size, can be placed and loaded even more conveniently. The line is available with either plate or tray slides.
- The sneeze guard has also been redesigned: Rounded corners reduce the risk of injury and ensure greater safety in busy buffet settings, especially where children are eager to help themselves.

Conclusion
A successful buffet thinks of everyone: Children who want to serve themselves, adults who value convenience and presentation, and employees who need reliable processes. B.PRO brings these requirements together with technology that works and details that make the difference.
BASIC LINE sorting station: More structure for day-to-day canteen operationsWith the new sorting station, B.PRO has created a solution for the growing requirements at daycare centres and schools. If offers clear processes, child-friendly orientation and a sorting logic in line with legal requirements.
Levers for improving school and daycare cateringRising costs and limited scope to make changes will continue to characterise catering for young people in 2026, as highlighted by a recent VDSKC survey. This makes it all the more important to focus on structures to reduce this pressure, as well as on securing durable and efficient equipment
