2.5.Google Analytics web analytics service

We use Google Analytics on our website, a web analysis service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (hereinafter referred to as “Google”). In this context, pseudonymised usage profiles are created and cookies (see Section 2.3) are used. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website, such as browser type/version, operating system used, referrer URL (the previously visited website), host name of the accessing computer (IP address) and time of server request are transmitted to a server in the USA and stored there.

The information is used to analyse your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website activity and Internet usage for the purposes of market research and tailor-made website design.

This information is also transmitted to third parties insofar as the law permits or said third party is commissioned to process this data. Your IP address will never be associated with any other data held by Google. The IP addresses will be anonymised to prevent any assignment (IP masking).

You may refuse the installation of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser software. We hereby notify you, however, that in this case, you may not be able to fully use all of the features of this website.

You may also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie related to your use of the website (incl. your IP address) as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available via the following link.

As an alternative to the browser add-on, especially for browsers on mobile devices, you can prevent the collection by Google Analytics by clicking on this link. An opt-out cookie will then be added, which will prevent the future collection of your data when you visit this website. The opt-out cookie is only valid in this browser and only for our website, and will be stored on your device. If you delete the cookies in this browser, you will need to re-add the opt-out cookie.

For more information on data protection in relation to Google Analytics, please see Google Analytics Help.

Google observes the data privacy provisions of the US Privacy Shield and is registered with the US Privacy Shield program run by the US Department of Commerce. We have also concluded a processing agreement with Google for the use of Google Analytics. Through this contract, Google assures that it processes data in accordance with the data protection regulation and upholds the protection of the data subject’s rights.

The tracking measures by Google Analytics are based on Art. 6 Para. 1 Sentence 1 lit. f of the GDPR. With this, we aim to ensure the needs-based design and continuous optimisation of our website. On the other hand, we use Google Analytics to statistically record the use of our website. We also use the data for the optimised display of advertising content. These interests are to be regarded as justified within the meaning of the aforementioned regulation.

2.6.Google Tag Manager

We use Google Tag Manager on our website, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (hereinafter referred to as “Google”). As marketers, Google Tag Manager allows us to manage website tags using one single interface. The Tools Google Tag Manager, which implements the tags, is a cookieless domain and does not collect any personally identifiable information. Google Tag Manager triggers other tags that may collect data in some circumstances. Google Tag Manager does not access this data. If disabled on the domain or cookie level, this will remain active for all tracking tags that are implemented with Google Tag Manager.

2.7.Google AdWords

We use Google AdWords on our website, a service provided by Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (hereinafter referred to as “Google”). Google AdWords enables us to use attractive advertising materials (so-called Google AdWords) on external websites to attract attention to our appealing offers. This allows us to determine how successful individual advertising measures are. These advertising materials are supplied by Google via so-called “ad servers”. For this, we use so-called ad server cookies, which can be used to measure certain success parameters, such as ad display or user clicks.

If you access our website via a Google ad, Google AdWords will save a cookie on your PC. These cookies generally lose their validity after 30 days. They are not intended to identify you personally. For this cookie, the following information is usually stored as analysis values: unique cookie ID, number of ad impressions per placement (frequency), last impression (relevant for post-view conversions), opt-out information (marking that the user no longer wants to be addressed). These cookies allow Google to recognise your web browser. If a user visits specific pages of a website operated by an AdWords customer and the cookie stored on their computer has not yet expired, Google and the customer will be able to detect that the user has clicked on the advert and was redirected to this page.

Every AdWords customer is assigned a different cookie. Cookies cannot therefore be tracked via the websites of AdWords customers. We ourselves do not collect and process any personal data through the above-mentioned advertising measures. We only receive statistical evaluations from Google. Through these evaluations, we can identify which of the advertising measures use are particularly effective. We do not receive any other data from the use of advertising material, and we cannot identify any users based on this information. Due to the marketing tools used, your browser automatically establishes a direct connection to the Google server. We do not have any control over the extent and further use of the data collected by Google through the use of Google AdWords. To the best of our knowledge, Google receives the information that you have accessed the relevant part of our website or have clicked on one of our ads. If you have a Google user account and are registered, Google can associate the visit to your user account. Even if you are not registered with Google or are not logged in, there is a chance that Google will receive and store your IP address.

We use Google AdWords for marketing and optimisation purposes, especially to display relevant and interesting ads for you, improve campaign performance reports and achieve a fair calculation of advertising costs. This also constitutes our legitimate interest in the processing of the above data by the third party. The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 f GDPR.

You can prevent the installation of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings in your browser software to stop cookies being installed (these can be found in most browsers in Settings). If you do this, you may not be able to fully use all functions of our website.

Preventing the storage of cookies is also possible by setting your web browser to block cookies from the domain www.googleadservices.com (https://www.google.de/settings/ads) We hereby inform you that this setting is deleted if you delete your cookies. You can also disable interest-based ads at http://www.aboutads.info/choices We hereby inform you that this setting is deleted if you delete your cookies.

Google observes the data privacy provisions of the US Privacy Shield and is registered with the US Privacy Shield program run by the US Department of Commerce.

2.8.Integration of third-party services and content

We use content and services provided by third parties on our website in order to integrate their content and services, such as videos or map extracts (hereinafter referred to collectively as “content”).

This always presupposes that the third-party providers of this content perceive the IP address of users, since they would otherwise be unable to send the content to their browser. The IP address is therefore necessary to display the contents. We aim only to use content from providers who solely use the IP address for content delivery. Third-party providers may also use so-called pixel tags (invisible graphics, also referred to as web beacons) for statistical or marketing purposes. Pixel tags enable the evaluation of information such as visitor traffic on the pages of this website. The anonymised information may also be stored in cookies on the user’s device and may include other technical information on browser and operating system, linking websites, time of visit and other details concerning the use of our online offer, in addition to being connected to such information from other sources.

We integrate third-party content and services to optimise our web offer and operate it in a cost-effective manner. The legal basis for this is generally Art. 6 Para. 1 f) GDPR.

2.9.Facebook Custom Audience / Facebook Pixel

We use the Facebook pixel on our website, a service provided by Facebook Ireland Limited (hereinafter referred to as Facebook). Through the Facebook pixel, it is possible to define the visitors of our website as a target group for the display of advertisements (so-called Facebook Ads). We therefore use the Facebook pixel to show the Facebook ads we book only to Facebook users who have shown an interest in our offer or have certain features (e.g. an interest in specific topics or products that can be determined by the websites they have visited), which we subsequently transmit to Facebook (so-called custom audiences). Through the Facebook pixel, we try to ensure that our Facebook ads are not irritating, but are rather only displayed when a user has a potential interest in our products. We can also use Facebook pixels to track the effectiveness of the Facebook ads for statistical and market research purposes, since it reveals whether users were redirected to our website via a Facebook ad (so-called conversion).

The processing of data by Facebook is done in accordance with Facebook’s data usage policy, which can be read here: https://www.facebook.com/policy.php. Special information and details about the Facebook pixel and its functionality can be found in the Help section of Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/651294705016616.

We use the Facebook pixel and Facebook Custom Audience feature for marketing, analysis and optimisation purposes, especially to display relevant and interesting ads for you, improve campaign performance reports and achieve a fair calculation of advertising costs. This also constitutes our legitimate interest in the processing of the above data by the third party. The legal basis is Art. 6 Para. 1 f GDPR.

As a Facebook user, you can refuse the collection and use of your data through the Facebook pixel to display Facebook ads. You can change the settings concerning which type of ads (usage-based advertising) are displayed within Facebook here: https://www.facebook.com/settings?tab=ads. The settings are platform-dependent, in other words, they are adopted for all devices, such as desktop computers and mobile devices.

You can refuse data collection through the Facebook pixel for our website only here. A cookie will be added to your computer to prevent tracking, providing you use the same browser to access our website. The opt-out cookie is only valid in this browser and only for our website, and will be stored on your device. If you delete the cookies in this browser, you will need to re-add the opt-out cookie.

Facebook observes the data privacy provisions of the US Privacy Shield and is registered with the US Privacy Shield program run by the US Department of Commerce.
